Public Relations Story Round-Up

Some interesting PR stories from the mainstream media:

·         In politics if you don’t win an election you are out of a job – which generally makes politicians winners in the PR firm business.  Watch out for Former Nebraska Democratic Senator Ben Nelson who has formed a new company called Heartland Strategy Group, LLC based in Omaha.  Read more at: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/03/ben-nelson-starts-new-pr-firm-88314.html#ixzz2MZMkg8TI

·         Media reports question if Mercedes Benz-asked their agency to fire an employee because he’s gay.  Interesting reading: http://shanghaiist.com/2013/03/01/stefan_susbauer_claims_mercedes-benz_pressured_osk_into_firing_him_because_he_is_gay.php

·         Lucas van Praag ran PR for Goldman-Sachs for years – and now he’s just changed the name of his NYC company to Fitzroy Communications. Clearly Goldman would be amazing learning grounds for one to run their own communications company.
